Release thread for the week of 10/11/2024

Week of 10/11/24 - 1 Release - 1 ephemeral env test - 7 Commits

Operational Notes:

Rainbow charts are back (for now)

This week was a slower week in releases while the team had a great figjam on the future goals of the product we are building. One nice takeaway has already turned into an actionable goal.

There is now a toast notification prompting users when they have claimable ARB bridge transactions.

Ops did some ephemeral env testing on Gomes’ work for EIP-6963 support. This will more standardize the wallet connection flow at Shapeshift with the standard that is widely used by other platforms in the space, and will look familiar to most who have connected a wallet to other services in the ecosystem.

General & Strategy

Highlight of the week was our strategy workshop yesterday!

Already inspiring some ticketed goals: Rates in <4 clicks and <10 seconds · Issue #7923 · shapeshift/web · GitHub

Branching paths docs still here . As we work through all the visions, workshops and ideas we’re adding revisions plus agendas. The ultimate goal is to have a Tl;Dr summary at the top and next steps at the bottom.

All-FOX in can, numbers down so, we focus on building for the future. Let’s goo.

Markets get more polish on fast follows next week, like fine tuning filters and double checking other chains. Might rethink the order to put portals at the top and explore a banner for the page. Similar to the opportunity carousel but styled different to capture attention and thus ….volume.

Gnosis blocked upstream but we also need to flesh out the milestones working with them. This would establish a significant market so we’ll want to get it right.

Process

Stay tuned for the next workshop! I’ll post a thread about these so we can drop async thoughts and use it for voting on final pieces. Next time we’re going to pitch apps to each other.

To be clear, some of this is morale building and some of it is feature roadmapping. But any ideas can end up on the roadmap if it’s strong enough.

  • Spec Ratio is at: 38/9 (4.22)
